Truck driver dies in Midrand crash on N1
MIDRAND – The truck driver, who had been ejected in the crash, had sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision on the N1 northbound before the Allandale off-ramp in Vorna Valley, Midrand at 5.48am this morning, 27 August.
Shawn Herbst from the communication’s office of Netcare 911 said that reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a heavy motor vehicle, transporting what appeared to be scrap metal, had lost control of the vehicle. The truck then slammed into the centre barrier on the road, spewing debris on both carriageways.
