Botshabelo launches its Christmas campaign
BLUE HILLS – Botshabelo are calling on the local community to take part in their new Christmas campaign.
Blue Hills-based organisation Botshabelo Babies Home and Preschool will run their Give. Gather. Gift Christmas campaign for local residents to take part in.
Marketing manager of the organisation Maja Muench said, “The festive season is right around the corner. A season full of smiles, family and presents.
“It is also a time when we become more thoughtful and think about others, families and children who are struggling, especially due to the pandemic. It’s this time of year when help is needed the most.”
Muench added, “Small gestures create huge smiles and lasting memories. Across Midrand and Johannesburg there are multiple charity organisations that need your support.
“In the following weeks we would like to introduce some of these NPOs to you and show you how you can make a difference.”
The initiative calls on the local community to give back in three ways. Muench explained, “You can support the babies home by donating what you would spend on your Christmas lunch – for some that’s a little, and for others it’s a lot.
“Every cent counts to help them care for their babies.” The second way is to gather donations from friends and family. “Your house can be a drop-off point for items such as groceries, stationery, second-hand clothes, vouchers and more. Bring them through to Botshabelo whenever it suits you.”
Thirdly, one could gift the babies with their most needed essentials such as wipes, nappies or formula.
Managing director of the organisation Michelle Hinrichsen concluded, “We love Christmas and we love the joy of the season. But most of all, we love to bring smiles to little faces and let them know that no matter who they are, they are loved, seen and cherished.”
