Sandton police warn motorists of a surge in hijacking incidents taking place at the Buccleuch interchange.
Spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station Captain Bheki Xulu said, “The amount of vehicles hijacked in the vicinity keeps on increasing continuously.”
He said the hijacking trend does not focus on a specific type or model of vehicle, but rather taking advantage of an opportunity that is advantageous to criminals, according to the reported incidents.

“Police records indicate that there is no specific time that these incidents take place, but most are reported during the day.”
Sandton Police Station Commander Brigadier Egen Moodley urges community members to report criminal activities or any suspicious vehicles in the area to Crime Stop on 086 001 0111 or Sandton Police Station on 011 722 4200.
