Noordwyk Secondary School held its inter-house athletics from January 27 to 28.
After two years without any formal sporting activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic, teacher and one of the organisers of the event, Michel Reddy said it was held to provide a sense of competition and cooperation among their learners.

Reddy said the event would also help to prepare the athletes for the inter-high athletics meeting to take place soon.

“It is extremely rewarding to allow our learners access to truly holistic education. Sport is an integral part of a child’s psycho-social development,” she added.
The two-day event saw the learners teamed up in their respective houses, competing in activities such as javelin, high jump, long jump, 100m, relays and shot put.

Blue Crane house came first followed by Black Bream in second and King Protea in third.
