Young swimming sensation hopes for more accolades and Olympic Games
Adam Daniels (12) says he spends about eight to nine hours on average in the pool every week to polish up his swimming skills.
A Grade 7 swimming sensation of Curro Waterfall is adamant he will represent South Africa at the Olympic Games in 2024.
Adam Daniels won gold in the 100m relay, silver in both 100m and 200m breaststroke in the South African school’s championships representing team Gauteng.

He also won bronze in the 50m and 100m breaststroke in the South African national junior champions in Port Elizabeth.
Adam said it felt amazing to have won so many medals, and added he hoped there were many more medals to come in his trophy cabinet.
Adam (12) said he first fell in love with swimming at the age of two and now spends about eight to nine hours on average in the pool every week to polish up his swimming skills.

“At the age of eight, that’s when my swimming took off and I knew that swimming was going to be my life. I love swimming because you can travel the world, meet new people, go to new places that you would have never thought about going to before. It keeps you fit and healthy.”
When asked which big competition he would like to participate in he said, “I would like to go to the South African Nationals Short Course Championship at the end of the year. I would also like to make the cut in the South African Olympic team in 2024.”
He urged his peers to take up swimming as it helped to stay out of trouble while keeping them fit.
Adam concluded that he would like to get a scholarship to the United States of America and fine-tune his swimming skills there while studying.
