Riky Rick featured in Fakaloice’s latest single
Phumlani Zondo affectionately known as Fakaloice believes the newly released single, Ooh Aah, featuring Riky Rick and Casper Nyovest, will become a new hit in the hip-pop fraternity.
Hip-pop producer, songwriter and singer Phumlane Zondo better known as Fakaloice [Put in the ice] released another single this time featuring hip-hop’s well-known artists.
In his latest single released today [July 1], the Waterfall City-based Zondo features the late rapper Rikhado ‘Riky Rick’ Makhado and Refiloe ‘Casper Nyovest’ Phoolo in a single titled Ooh Aah.
Zondo (28) said he was happy to have finally released the single after working on the song from 2020 before Makhado died earlier this year.
“The song came as freestyle about three years back if I am not mistaken. This was before I signed with Ambitiouz Entertainment and I meet with Ricky in 2020 to start working on the song. I am truly happy and I think it will be a big song in the hip-pop genre.”

He said patience in releasing this single has been a virtue for him in the music industry including releasing this recent single. Zondo said they were still working on the music video.
Zondo, who dropped a single on April 22 titled Konakele [It’s messed up] talks about the social ills that have ravaged the music industry which included Riky’s suicide on February 23.
He has previously released songs such as Your Son and Sekunjalo [It’s now] that also touch on where he comes from and where he is now with regard to his music journey.
“I started music in 2014 and what I try to do with my music is to blend hip-hop with a touch of gospel because I want my songs to have a special message to anyone listening to it. I spent most of my upbringing going to church but I fell in love with hip-pop and that’s why I merge the two genres in my producing.”
He says he was motivated by the likes of well-known rapper K.O who rose to fame around 2014 when he produced modern hip-hop music.
Zondo concluded that he hopes one day he will work with someone like Blackie, whose music style of hip-hop and amapiano is balanced.
