The awards ceremony was held at Kanana Community Hall in Rabie Ridge on November 19. The hall was packed to the rafters with players, parents, and general supporters who sang various songs to support the young players.

The league also rewarded the U17 women’s league champion, Super Midrand Ladies Academy. Super Midrand coach Katlego Masia said it was their first time joining the U17 women’s league since the MLFA’s establishment in 2006.

“This is our biggest achievement as a team, and I am really happy with the victory. It was a competitive and fun league for us as a team. We lost some of the players along the way some went to other teams. The aim is to keep on pushing so that in the next coming three years we find ourselves being promoted to Hollywood Nation League,” said Masia.

He said in order to achieve this dream, as a team, they have to keep the team solid, and find more players so that they can defend their championship. Masia dedicated the trophy to his late mother, who he described as a sportswoman in her times.

In the boys U11, Nkulisa FC received a gold medal and trophy, Petersen FC took home silver medals and a cup while Mayibuye Development took home bronze medals and a trophy.

Nkulisa FC were the big winners as they scooped the U13, U17, and U19 championships and finished second in the U15 division.
Head coach Lucky ‘Nkulisa’ Dunn heaped praise on his players’ hard work and dedication for the win. “The boys really worked hard this season and I hope they can achieve the same next season. I am extremely proud of all the divisions and how they have applied themselves. They showed great hunger and dedication,” said Dunn.
