The Glen Austin High School assembly space was packed by the Grade 11 and 12 learners as they celebrated Precious Maluleka’s impressive Grade 11 pass.
Precious says she worked hard in a bid to get good marks that will help her get a placement in the higher education system. The prizegiving ceremony was held at the school on January 26.
Precious is not new to winning and getting good marks as she was part of the group of learners celebrated by the school at the start of last year. This was after she excelled in accounting, Afrikaans, English, maths, life sciences and life orientation in Grade 10 in 2022.
“I am happy about all the achievements, and I would like to thank my parents, teachers, and peers in class. I would also like to thank Mobicel for giving me a new phone. This is a huge achievement, and I will continue working hard to earn such results and gifts.,”
She said when she completes her high school studies, she aspires to become a neurosurgeon or doctor.
Her parents, Michael and Bathabile Maluleka shared the same sentiments regarding their daughter always being busy with her books – studying. “Precious is a reserved child and she likes to study and tends to question almost everything she does not understand. She spends most of her time with her books and she is focused. We were excited when we were invited to today’s ceremony. Our involvement in Precious’ life is holistic and focused on her academically. We do not only send her to school but also make sure she does her schoolwork thoroughly.”
