Nokuphila’s new Grade 8 learners urged to excel and make the school proud

Nthabiseng Ngoepe from Ivory Park, who has three children at the school, hopes to see the school grow to a Grade 12 class.

After launching Grade 8 for the first time this year, Nokuphila School supported by Love Trust is excited for the future.

Charmaine Gola, director of fundraising at the trust, believes having more classes is a great step forward for the school and is working on extending it to include Grade 9.

The President Park-based Nokuphila School launched its new Grade 8 class and high school block on February 20, to the excitement of parents and learners alike.

Gola said their vision remains unchanged, with a steadfast commitment to enhancing every growth opportunity for their learners. She said they want to continue producing amazing academic results and carving a successful future for their alumni.

“The management team with the support of the Board of Trustees is investigating all available avenues to continue learning post Grade 9 at Nokuphila. We have always approached growth as an organisation in a financially stable way with only one grade at a time as we are a donor-funded school. The possibilities are endless, however, we need to ensure financial security and stability with every element of growth.”

Asked if she could put a time frame to the above-mentioned promises, Gola said they were in the research stage but have communicated to all the parents of the current Grade 8 learners that for now, their financial commitment is only up to Grade 9. “We will, however, continue to keep them updated on any plans related to grades 10–12.”

Nthabiseng Ngoepe, a parent from Ivory Park, who has three children at the school, Kgomotso, Mario, and Tshediso, said she was excited about the launch. “The high school will play a huge role to us as parents and our learners.
“Social ills affecting other schools will not be the issue because I believe the environment will be conducive to learning. I am happy that the school is expanding and have not had issues with registering him [son] and having to apply online or buy study materials.”

She said her wishes and hopes were to see the school grow, and include other Grades all the way to Grade 12.
