Midrand YCPD continues to look for more youth to join
Midrand YCPD has been doing exceptionally well and is constantly on the lookout for more youth to join their ranks.

The Midrand Youth Crime Prevention Desk (YCPD) has been revived and is currently being led by Sector 3 Crime Forum and an ad-hoc member of Community Policy Forum (CPF) Chris Gatsi.
The desk has been doing exceptionally well and is constantly on the lookout for more youth to join their ranks.
On March 1, the Midrand desk hosted a meeting that was attended by about 10 young people, impressing Gatsi as it is still in its early stages.
Furthermore, the Midrand desk is also collaborating with CPF youth desks from Alex and Roodepoort. During the meeting, some of the representatives from the areas visited the Midrand youth desk.
Gatsi said the more people they have, the better. “As of now, the Midrand YCPD has positions for interim acting chairperson and deputy, as well as secretary and deputy secretary until proper elections can be held.”
In addition to this, the Midrand desk is trying to collaborate with UDS UAV and Drone Solutions to train the youth and provide them with possible opportunities to build and operate drones.
“The use of drones can be instrumental in fighting crime. We hope to get regular use of them for our patrols. A meeting is scheduled between the Midrand YCPD, South African Police Services, and UDS and we promise to give feedback after the meeting.”
The Midrand desk is also seeking permission from the Department of Education to run the crime prevention debate across the district. They are currently awaiting a response and hope to have good and tangible news in the coming week.
