Members of a syndicate involved in multi-million rand fraud arrested in Midrand
Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza said information of the fraud syndicate was followed and led to five arrests of males aged from 30 to 41.
Five suspected fraudsters linked to an alleged multi-million rand fraud syndicate have been arrested by Midrand police in Waterfall on August 7.

They were found in possession of card payment machines, cloned bank and fleet cards, fraudulent transaction slips, and card reading and programming machines.
The suspects were also found with a set of cloned vehicle licence plates, cellphones, and laptops allegedly used in the commission of fraud.
Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza said the estimated value of the counterfeit card fraud was more than R10m.

“They are facing charges of possession of stolen property. Midrand crime prevention members received a tip-off about people cloning cards. Information on the fraud syndicate was followed and led to five arrests of males aged from 30 to 41. Speed points machines, bank cards, a machine to create cards, and machine slips were recovered.”
She added it was discovered that the suspects were under investigation for fraud in KZN.
The suspects were detained at the Midrand Police Station cells.
