Region A celebrates National Women’s Day with community fitness

Over a hundred attendees seized the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and motivate one another in pursuing their fitness ambitions.

Region A pulsated with energy as the Sport and Recreation department hosted an aerobics class at Rabie Ridge Stadium on August 9.

This free session attracted residents of all ages, particularly women, in recognition of National Women’s Day, who were determined to sweat it out and commit to a healthier lifestyle.

This dynamic event was purposefully organised to champion healthy living throughout the city, prioritising the engagement of local communities in fitness activities.

This year’s event was especially meaningful as it coincided with the commemoration of National Women’s Day, transforming it into a vibrant celebration of health and the vital role women play in society.

Mandla Mahlangu, the assistant director for sports and recreation in Region A, highlighted the critical nature of this gathering, declaring it a significant tribute to Women’s Day that actively encourages both men and women to unite in the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle.

“This gathering is not only a fitness event, it stands as a profound tribute that challenges both men and women to embrace a healthier lifestyle together,” said Mahlangu.
