A video clip of Jo-Ann Ntokozo Mabasa has resurfaced, in which she jokingly threatens to kill her boyfriend, Xichav Ntswanisi.

Just over six months after the video was first shared, it has gone viral again following allegations that Mabasa stabbed Ntswanisi multiple times at a residential complex in Noordwyk on September 22.

The 22-year-old Mabasa appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on September 25, charged with the murder of her 31-year-old boyfriend. She was remanded in custody and is expected to appear again on October 2.

In the video, Mabasa is seen complaining about Ntswanisi being out with his friends while she is left alone in the early hours of the morning.

Ntswanisi, who was employed by the Greater Giyani Municipality, was laid to rest on September 27 in his hometown of Mhinga, near Malamulele in Limpopo province.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that a murder investigation was underway. “The victim was certified dead on the scene. Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of a woman who is reported to be the girlfriend of the deceased,” said Masondo.
