Curro Waterfall ends 2025 on a high
Curro Waterfall has wrapped up 2025 with a series of impressive achievements, from national robotics success to the launch of its dedicated music school and competitive esports victories.
Curro Waterfall has closed 2025 on a high note, marking a year of outstanding achievement across academics, sports, and culture, and reaffirming its status as a leading, future-focused school in Gauteng.
The school’s executive head, Charisse Le Roux, said this year, Curro Waterfall has grown in ways that truly reflect their commitment to future-focused education. “From launching our music school to achieving national success in robotics and esports, our learners have shown exceptional talent and dedication across every discipline.”
Among the highlights was the opening of the school’s dedicated music school, led by an experienced director. The facility offers learners from preschool through high school access to a broad music curriculum, including drumming, guitar, piano, and vocal training, ensuring holistic development beyond traditional academics.

The school’s robotics teams delivered impressive results in 2025 at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), held earlier this year. At the primary school level, one team won the provincial competition, with two teams advancing to the national WRO competition. At the high school level, Team Visionary Vortex achieved second place in the future innovators–junior age group with their innovative robotic arm, designed to support astronauts on space missions. Their invention tackled critical tasks, such as plant growth, rock analysis, medical aid, and waste disposal aboard the International Space Station.

Two teachers were also selected as international robotics judges for Singapore 2025 at the WRO international final.

Curro Waterfall’s esports teams maintained their competitive edge throughout the year, winning victories in Minecraft PvP, Build Battles, and national LAN events. These successes laid the groundwork for the school’s new esports arena, featuring 10 to 12 competitive gaming stations, set to open in 2026.
As they look towards 2026, the school will introduce the Pitso Mosimane youth football programme, offering internationally acclaimed coaching to both girls’ and boys’ teams. The sports curriculum will further expand to include sevens rugby, hockey, and cheerleading, opening even more avenues for learners to discover and develop their strengths.
The school celebrated internal leadership growth by recognising the appointment of a deputy head of primary school, following her outstanding contributions in the foundation phase. “I am incredibly proud of our learners, staff, and parents,” concluded Le Roux. “Everything we achieved this year was the result of teamwork, dedication, and a shared belief in our vision. Together, we continue to shape young leaders who are confident, curious, and ready for the future.”
