Bradford Preparatory School excels at Cambridge checkpoint exams

Establishing a strong foundation in early years and primary education is vital for success in high school and beyond. Bradford Schools has showed that the quality of teaching it provides is at an international level.

Bradford Preparatory School, based in Midrand, recently had their students take part in the Cambridge checkpoint exams, focusing mainly on maths, science, and English.

The Cambridge Primary checkpoint exams are a series of international assessments that learners take at the end of their final primary education year, Grade 6.

These assessments provide an international benchmark for performance, helping to prepare students for global competence. There are also checkpoint exams in Grade 9, in preparation for O-Level and Advanced Level.

Bradford principal Debbie Mace noted: “At Bradford Schools, our nurturing and stimulating environment fosters exploration and curiosity during these formative years, coupled with our engaging international curriculum, to enhance our students’ foundational skills.”

2024 checkpoint achievers.

The results of the 2024 primary checkpoints were impressive, with the majority passing with high scores. Notably, Lethabo Seromo achieved a remarkable 100% score in Cambridge primary science, setting a world record score.

Seromo said: “Preparing was an exciting challenge that I was determined to conquer. I realised that strong subject knowledge alone was not enough, time management was essential, as well as the application of skills and strategies that were emphasised by our teachers. I’m grateful to my study group for the collaborative time we spent sharing ideas and supporting each other.”

The school will continue assisting their learners when it comes to bettering their education, while making sure that they pass these checkpoints.
