Nizamiye Primary and High School Grade 10 learner plans on international recognition
Rahime Sugranur Kublay says, after the regional competition, she wants to represent the school, and her family, at the International Science Fair.
Rahime Sugranur Kublay believes getting the opportunity to participate in her school’s science expo was an honour.
The Grade 10 learner from Nizamiye Primary and High School in Halfway House now has her sight on the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists in late July/early August.

“I am quite delighted that I will be representing my school this year in one of the best expo competitions,” said Rahime. “Having another year filled with the same feeling of anticipation and excitement, in a friendly competition among my friends and schoolmates.”
She said, in the school expo, all learners had the chance to display their skills and knowledge of a comprehensive understanding of solving nation-wide difficulties.
Rahime said her plan was to beat her last year’s record, and go to the regional Eskom expo, with the hope of getting international recognition.

She also hopes to win a gold medal at the regional science expo; to boost her confidence should she get the nod for the international competition. “Now, my next step is to become the new Best in Regionals, and, if chosen, represent myself, my family, my school, and my country honourably at the International Science Fair [ISF].
“Last year, I couldn’t go to the ISF, even though I was chosen, but this year, if I get chosen again, I’m planning on rocking my way in with awards and honours.”
After her matric, Rahime hopes to study medicine and obtain a degree and her masters.
