Authorities search senior phase learners at Noordwyk Secondary School

Sector 3 Crime Forum’s Otto Ramokoka urged parents and guardians to regularly monitor their children.

The Midrand police, together with the Sector 3 Crime Forum, visited Noordwyk Secondary School to search for weapons among learners on October 14.

Forum patrol coordinator Otto Ramokoka said they were also joined by Crime Wardens to search the learners who are in the higher grades for dangerous weapons, drugs, and other illicit substances.

“We were welcomed by the principal [Alex Tau] and other educators. The reason for this search was a complaint raised by the principal and the parents of learners who are attending school there, and the community. The search went well, only three vapers [electronic cigarettes] were confiscated by the team,” said Ramokoka.

He urged the parents and guardians of learners at the school to closely monitor their children.

“A big appreciation from those who participate in this search,” concluded Ramokoka.
