New modern manhood book, Force for Good: The Power of Health Masculinity, to be launched at the Mall of Africa
The book champions positive masculinity as a vital tool to creating a safe and flourishing society where men are empowered to fully experience their emotions.
Craig Wilkinson’s new book argues that healthy masculinity – not its absence – is the answer to today’s gender crisis.
Wilkinson is a bestselling author, speaker, and social entrepreneur passionate about helping men live with integrity, strength, and purpose.
This November, as conversations around men’s health, well-being, and contribution take centre stage ahead of International Men’s Day, author and men’s development expert Wilkinson brings a powerful voice to the fore with the release of his most courageous work yet: Force for Good: The Power of Healthy Masculinity.

The book, which was launched on November 6 with Penguin Random House at the Mall of Africa, calls men to rediscover, not redefine, the strength, courage, and purpose at the heart of true masculinity.

The book unpacks how masculinity itself is not the problem; the absence of healthy masculinity is.
Drawing on nearly two decades of mentoring men and fathers across the country through his non-profit organisation Father A Nation, Wilkinson makes the case that ‘strong, principled men are one of society’s greatest forces for good’.
“It’s not masculinity that’s toxic; it’s the lack of true, positive masculinity that is. Every man carries a sacred duty to grow his power and use it only for good,” said Wilkinson.
In the book, Wilkinson asserts that there has never been a more urgent time to teach, equip and inspire boys and men to live with strong, healthy masculinity.
And the book arrives at a defining moment, with South Africa’s femicide rate five times higher than the global average (Africa Health Organisation), pervasive gender-based violence, a deepening men’s mental health crisis, and widespread confusion about male identity.
As societies wrestle with how to raise boys and foster honest conversations across gender divides, Force for Good offers a powerful framework for reclaiming what Wilkinson calls the Six Virtues of Positive Masculinity.

“True masculinity is a great gift to society. When men understand, embrace, and express their masculine strength with integrity and love, everyone benefits, women, children, and communities alike.”

The launch of the book coincides with International Men’s Day later this month, and leads into 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children.
Wilkinson is an internationally recognised voice on positive masculinity, fatherhood, and gender equality. In 2010, he founded Father A Nation to address the widespread social impact of fatherlessness, such as gender-based violence and violent crime.
His mission through the organisation is to restore and equip men to be great fathers, husbands, role models and nation builders.
