Learners excel locally and abroad as Reddford House Blue Hills expands opportunities

Reddford House Blue Hills learners did not just meet expectations this year; they exceeded them, again and again.

Reddford House Blue Hills has enjoyed an exceptional year across academics, sports, culture, and global engagement.

The learners have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, talent, and determination, and the school’s head of campus, Ross Davis, shares some of the highlights from 2025. “Our annual major production, High School Musical, was a vibrant celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the confidence our learners develop through the arts. We also strengthened our sporting pathways, through an exciting partnership with the Football Union, offering enhanced coaching and development opportunities for our young athletes.”

The school swimming team made history this year, proudly winning the High School Swimming League, while the girls’ softball team delivered a highly successful season filled with resilience and standout performances. “In the primary school, we celebrated our best-ever athletics season, with learners achieving new personal records and demonstrating remarkable commitment. Academically, the school recognised, with great pride, learners who advanced to the final round of the Maths Olympiad.”

The dance club (CDC Dance) achieved remarkable success this year, winning national competitions and earning the honour of representing South Africa on the international stage in Spain, the Czech Republic, and Serbia.

In the arts, both the marimba ensembles and choir competed in multiple festivals throughout the year, achieving top results and representing the school with musical excellence, passion, and teamwork.

In early learning, the learners charmed the school community with a vibrant and creative recycling fashion show, highlighting sustainability, imagination, and the joy of exploration. “We also embraced a year rich in cultural celebrations, honouring the diversity and traditions of our school family through events that foster unity, understanding, and pride. In the spirit of service, our community generously supported key local charities, including the WOTIF Foundation in Diepsloot, Clothes to Good, and our impactful Blanket Drive for the Mandela 67 Blankets Foundation.”

This has also been an exciting year of international exposure, with enriching tours to Japan and the USA, as well as the school’s top achievers academic tour to the USA.

Goals for 2026 include deepening academic excellence, growing international and cultural experiences, and enhancing holistic development and wellbeing. “This year has been defined by purpose, passion, and progress. I am incredibly proud of how our learners continue to rise – whether on stage, in the classroom, on the sports field, or across the world. Their achievements reflect not only their talent but also the strength of our community. As we look ahead, we remain committed to nurturing young people who are confident, compassionate, and ready to make their mark.”
