Hawks seek public assistance to locate suspect in killing of two police officers in Ivory Park
Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of two Ivory Park officers, but the search continues for a third suspect.
Police have intensified their search for a third suspect, believed to be involved in the fatal shooting of two police officers from the Ivory Park Police Station, gunned down while on duty late last year.
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (the Hawks) in Gauteng has confirmed that two of the three suspects linked to the brutal attack have already been arrested, while a manhunt is underway for the remaining suspect, identified as Nelson Mathe, also known as ‘Maseven’.

The slain officers, Constable Maselaelo Arnold Montja and Sergeant Matome Rachuene Rapetsoa, were killed on November 28, 2025, while conducting patrol duties in Ivory Park. According to police, the officers had stopped at a tuck shop in Ext 9 to purchase items when they were ambushed.
“It is alleged that three unknown suspects approached the police vehicle and started shooting at the officers,” said Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Thatohatsi Mavimbela. “The suspects then robbed the officers of their service firearms and fled the scene on foot.”

Investigations led to swift arrests. On November 30, 2025, one suspect, Anthon Shilenge (18), was arrested at a house in the Emoyeni section of Tembisa. On the same day, a second suspect, Ally Milambo (28), was apprehended in Mamelodi East.

“During Milambo’s arrest, police recovered a 9mm pistol belonging to the late Montja, as well as an R5 magazine loaded with 13 live rounds.
Milambo then took officers to a house in Phumulamuxashi in Tembisa, where he had hidden the R5 rifle, which also belongs to the state,” said Mavimbela.
Police are now appealing to the public to assist in locating the third suspect. The Hawks in Gauteng urge anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Nelson Mathe to contact the investigating officer, Lieutenant Colonel Chauke, on 082 413 0208.
