Aircraft crash reported near Carstenhof Hospital, Midrand

It is unclear whether there are any injuries after the aircraft crashed in Glen Austin

A light-aircraft crash in Glen Austin, Midrand, on February 4 has prompted a large emergency response near Carstenhof Hospital.

Authorities have stated that the crash occurred on private property and that the hospital was not impacted.

South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) spokesperson Sisa Majola said they are awaiting further information from the investigation.

They have warned the public to avoid the area and that helicopters may have to make emergency landings.

JMPD spokesperson Superintendent Xolani Fihla said it has not come to the attention of their department at this stage.
