Hawks FC soar above the rest as Midrand Promotional League title race heats up

The Midrand Promotional League title race is intensifying, with Hawks FC leading the pack while several clubs fight desperately to avoid relegation.

With roughly 12 games still to play in the 2025/26 Midrand Promotional League season, Hawks FC remain firmly in control at the top of the table.

The league leaders strengthened their grip on first place with a ruthless 7–0 demolition of Wanga FC on March 1. The commanding victory further highlighted Hawks’ impressive form this season, having now collected 27 points from their opening 12 matches.

So far, Hawks have shown consistency, recording no draws and suffering just a single defeat. That lone setback came against Pothos FC, who edged them 3–2 on February 22. Aside from that result, Hawks have been nearly untouchable, conceding only seven goals while netting an impressive 32.

Hot on their heels are Midrand United, who currently occupy second place with 23 points after 10 matches. United had an opportunity to narrow the gap when they faced the leaders on February 15, but Hawks emerged victorious with a 2–1 win.

However, Midrand United quickly bounced back in style a week later, delivering a commanding 4–0 victory over Super Gauteng to keep their title hopes alive. With seven wins, two draws, and only one loss, which came against the table leaders, United have scored 20 goals while conceding just three.

The chasing pack remains tightly contested. Kaalfontein DF sit third on 22 points, level with fourth-placed Pothos FC, while Real Super Stars occupy fifth place with 18 points.

Completing the top eight are Wanga FC, also on 18 points, followed by T Wolves in seventh with 16 points, while Super Gauteng rounds off the top eight with nine points.

At the opposite end of the table, the battle to avoid relegation is becoming increasingly intense. Midrand Titans Academy, Chloorkop Super Eagles, Kwaito Football Club, and Spartans FC currently find themselves in the danger zone as the season enters a critical phase.
