Marketplace Ministry Institute celebrates Class of 2025 graduates

16 professionals from diverse fields completed the Marketplace Ministry Institute’s leadership and marketplace development programme, ready to make a difference in their communities.

President Park-based Marketplace Ministry Institute (MMI) celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2025 on February 21.

They honoured 16 individuals who completed the institute’s leadership and marketplace development programme. The graduates represented a diverse range of professions, including senior managers from parastatals, a paediatrician, a dietitian, specialists, and entrepreneurs.

MMI is committed to equipping individuals across the socioeconomic spectrum to make meaningful contributions in their workplaces and communities. The nine-month programme equips students with skills in business ideation, modelling, value positioning, and leadership development, with several participants already launching ventures while still enrolled.

A highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of six graduates who earned a unit standard certificate for: Produce a Business Plan for a New Venture, accredited by the Services Seta.

Graduate Vuyo Nombila described the programme as a God-sent opportunity, noting that sessions on personal mastery emphasised self-awareness, discipline, and understanding one’s strengths and calling. “When a person masters themselves, they can operate more effectively and make a greater impact within their sphere of influence.”

This year’s graduation also marked MMI’s 10-year anniversary. Keynote speaker Bishop Ceasar Molebatse, founder of Youth Alive, encouraged graduates to view the marketplace as a platform for societal influence and transformation.

Beyond graduation, MMI continues to support its alumni through ongoing mentorships, access to learning materials, and connections with industry networks for promising business ventures.

Looking ahead, the institute plans to expand its 2026 programme with focused learning streams for career advancement and entrepreneurship, complemented by targeted workshops and expert guidance.
