Mothers enjoy a day of relaxation and celebration at Curro Sagewood

A treat of sound therapy sessions and fitness exercises gave mothers an opportunity to unwind at Curro Sagewood.

Right before Mother’s Day, Curro Sagewood hosted their primary school mothers to a sound therapy session with Philani Holistic Wellness and a fitness session with Curves Women’s Health & Fitness Club.

Glory Thenga, a mother of a Grade 5 learner, mentioned a highlight of the day. “One thing, for sure, about mothers is that we are very busy. We sleep late and wake up early because we have work, family, and personal commitments. In the sound therapy session, I think I fell asleep in the first eight minutes. It made me realise that we need to rest. That session was the highlight for me.”

The primary school principal, Linda Naidoo, explained why they chose fitness and therapy for the moms. “We’re always looking for new and creative ways to engage our moms and let them enjoy the time they take away from work. We also want to be that school that they go to and say I did something I’m not used to, like sound therapy.

“Bringing these events on Mother’s Day is also a way to say we want them to know we believe in fitness, healthy bodies, and healthy minds.”

Grades 1 to 7 learners also filled the day with joy, as they performed appreciation songs for the mothers. This warmed the mothers’ hearts as they started recording the performances and cheering for the little ones on stage.
