The purpose was to give the young ones a guiding book they will use as a tool to inspire them, and serve as a reminder that the possibilities of dreams are only limited by the imagination.

The author started writing the book three years ago, with the idea of empowering young children and giving them a tangible reminder that their dreams matter.

Jansen Van Rensburg explains what experience the book will provide for the little ones. “When I first started prototyping Only a World Away, I had clear goals in mind. To create something thought-provoking, subjective to each reader, and, most importantly, educational. I wanted the book to become a keepsake for every child to hold onto, to immerse themselves in, and to see themselves reflected in.”

The children’s home welcomed the author, and the children were delighted, glued to the experience and the book’s characters, who they could understand and resonate with.

As Jansen Van Rensburg read the book for the little ones, some were already finding their favourite pages. She shared how it felt, distributing the books to the children. “Today, I truly saw something different in the eyes of the kids. An eagerness to learn. I could tell that the story evokes curiosity. That’s the aim, having them think further about their own journey and goals they want to achieve.”
