Fire at Mayibuye High School extinguished
Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services manage to extinguish flames threatening high school in Mayibuye.
The fire that broke out at Mayibuye High School, on the morning of July 31, has been extinguished by the Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS).
According to information gathered at the scene, the blaze spread to the section of the school that was not yet in use and was still being prepared to accommodate Grade 12 learners.

No injuries have been reported.
Sources at the scene, who asked not to be identified, alleged that the fire may have started near one of the container classrooms.
Some claimed they suspected it had been deliberately started, while others alleged it could have involved learners who are known to frequent that side of the school to smoke.

These claims have not been independently verified, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
Midrand Reporter is still in a process to get hold of DEMS for official comment regarding the possible cause of the fire.
