Police recover stolen bell excavator abandoned in Midrand
A Bell excavator, stolen during a robbery in Muldersdrift, has been recovered in Blue Hills, Midrand, after Johannesburg Flying Squad officers found it abandoned during a patrol.
Police are investigating the theft of a bell excavator, which was allegedly stolen in Muldersdrift before being abandoned in Midrand.

According to Johannesburg Flying Squad media liaison officer Raymond Sambo, the vehicle was recovered on August 3 at about 15:30 during a routine patrol. ” Johannesburg Flying Squad members were busy patrolling when they received information of a yellow bell excavator that had been robbed in Muldersdrift.”
Police followed up on the information and proceeded to a property at the corner of Poplar Road in the Blue Hills plots, Midrand, where they found the excavator abandoned. The machine was recovered and taken to the police pound for safekeeping while investigations continue.

On August 5, Sambo confirmed that no arrests have been made so far, and police are continuing their investigation to trace the suspects responsible for the theft.
