Searching for gold in bins

Sihle Mbokazi from Ivory Park writes: Every time I see someone rummage through the bins looking for 'goodies' to take home, my heart breaks.

I want to challenge residents to take a moment and show kindness to someone else. If you have something that someone else may see value in, do not mix it with the trash.

Put the ‘valuables’ beside the bin or right at the top, so that when the people who go through our bins before Pikitup arrives can access these things without having to go through our dirtiest trash. Please show some ubuntu.

I have made a decision to tie up old toys and clothes, and put them in a labelled plastic bag so that someone who has nothing and looks through my bins finds a bit of ‘gold’.
