Plot invasions in Midrand

Anonymous writes:

There may be a crime trend in the plot areas of Midrand’s Glen Austin and President Park.

We have learnt of three armed house burglaries and one break-in, all showing similar patterns. There seem to be five or six members of a gang committing the crimes led by a tall man. They seem harmless in the beginning as if they are genuinely seeking advice. They then reach for their guns and are not afraid to point them at you, demanding your co-operation while they steal your belongings.

Any resistance from the homeowner or others residing in the homes is met with violent reactions from the criminals.

Victims arms are tied behind their backs and are moved into one room while items in the home are removed.

Items stolen may include clothing and electrical gadgets, and these are packed into cars on the property. A van or truck driver with a second group of thugs is contacted by the criminals to fetch heavy or more items that they cannot carry.

These robberies have seemingly been continuing for years and campus students of Midrand Graduate Institute have reported similar experiences.

We need to develop our perimeters as is done on estates if we’re going to stand a chance.
