Get to know Mjokes
MIDRAND Reporter spoke to Noordwyk artist Emmanuel Matsane.
Well-known to his fans as ‘Mjokes’, Matsane was born in Soweto.
Matsane has been in the music industry for the past 20 years. He plays various genres of music such as Afro pop, House, and Kwaito. “I am one of the founders and artist director at Kalawa Jazzmee Records, along with my business partner, Oskido,” he said.
“As a solo artist and a lead singer of the Trompies group I have done a lot of popular songs such as Sweety Lavo and Mme Maselina. I love living in Midrand, it has lively people who love life and dancing to music until the morning.”
Matsane has groomed popular musicians and producers such as the top group Uhuru. “I met Uhuru in Soshanguve, saw their talent and trained them.
Matsane’s latest offering is a song called Talk of the Town.
