A local music line-up to steal the limelight
JOBURG - A host of international artists lined up for Tshwane's TribeOne Dinokeng music festival need to ensure their performances will be on point.
Some of the best rock bands produced by South Africa will take to the festival’s Thunder Valley Main Stage in September, joining a line-up that includes international and local urban superstars.
The local artist line-up for the festival reads like a modern South African Rock ‘n Roll hall of fame, and includes the likes of Fokofpolisiekar, Shadowclub, Gangs of Ballet, and Zebra & Giraffe.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Caroline Hillary said that the local rock line-up will also feature The Black Cat Bones, Van Coke Kartel, Taxi Violence, Wrestlerish, and Al Bairre.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Nicki Minaj, J Cole, Kid Ink, D’banj, Wizkid, Fally Ipupa, Sarkodie, Khuli Chana, Keko, AKA, Redsan, Alikiba and Xtatic will also perform at the festival.
“The Thunder Valley Main Stage is one of the [festival’s] main stages and, musically, has a focus on rock, pop, alternative and related music genres,” said Hillary.
“The producers are planning a mind-blowing line-up… to fill all three days on this stage, and will announce new acts on a weekly basis.”
The festival will take place from 26 until 28 September in the city of Tshwane, and will feature three mega stages and 62 live stages in various locations around the city.
