Man bust for breaking into his friend’s place

MIDRAND – A man's friend is arrested for burglary and theft.

A man will appear in Midrand Magistrates’ Court soon on a charge of breaking into his friend’s home in Midrand and stealing clothes and property worth R120 000.

The 25-year-old suspect was arrested and will face charges of housebreaking and theft.

Spokesperson for Midrand Police Station, Constable Matome Tlamela said the complainant told police that he was out shopping on 12 August when he received a call from a security company notifying him that a burglary had occurred. “The complainant told police that he immediately returned home and found that the burglar door had been forced open. “After checking the place, he realised that property including a Sony TV, Apple Mac desktop, Acer laptop, Philip Patek watch, Tag Heuer brown-blue watch, Sony camera and clothing had been stolen.

“A few days after the crime was committed, police received information alleging that a suspect who broke into the complainant’s place was actually one of his friends and lived in the same complex.”
