Family fun at Midrand’s StockCity WakePark
MIDRAND – Water sports fun for all in Midrand.
StokeCity WakePark has been Midrand’s best-kept secret for a long time. Offering cable skiing, wake-boarding and knee-boarding, the park also boasts a stand-up paddling course and an open-water swimming route.
Starting this spring, the park will become home to South Africa’s first floating aqua park, and one of Gauteng’s wettest and most entertaining family attractions. Kyle Holtzhauzen from WaterPlaySa, the official Wibit Distributors in South Africa, said this floating adventure playground promises fun like never before experienced in South Africa.
Holtzhauzen said children and families will delight in the aqua park’s many obstacle course features. The new attraction will not only provide a floating playground of fun but balance athletic ability with plenty of slips, thrills and spills. Holtzhauzen added, “It’s like being a contestant on Total Wipe Out, a famous TV game show, but much less intense.”
StokeCity WakePark’s marketing manager, Chantal Holtzhauzen said, “We are extremely excited about the new addition to the park. People in Gauteng are always on the lookout for some exciting, alternative entertainment and we know the aqua park will be a hit with people from all walks of life.”
The aqua park will be open to the public Tuesdays – Sundays for the entire summer. Each session is 50 minutes long and starts on the hour, every hour from 10am to 5pm. Each session can accommodate up to 65 people; arrive 30 minutes before if you are pre-booked.
