Midrand can boast after local resident is crowned 2nd princess of Mrs India SA
MIDRAND – Midrand resident has been crowned the 2nd princess of Glow TV Mrs India South Africa.
Earlier this year, Midrand Reporter published an article titled Finalist highlights the work of NPOs about a top-25 finalist, Deepika Jonnalagadda for the Glow TV Mrs India South Africa.
The finals of the pageant took place on 25 August and the Midrand resident was crowned the Glow TV Mrs India South Africa second princess at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Numerous activities took place in the week leading to the finals, which kicked of on 20 August. During the week Jonnalagadda was voted by the counterparts as the Mrs Personality and Mrs Intellect.
“I completed my schooling years in India and graduated in journalism and psychology from the Carmel Women’s college. I also completed a diploma in business administration at the Central School of Professional Studies in London, United Kingdom.
“I was excited to take part in the pageant and was very proud of myself when I was chosen as one of the finalists from over 1 200 applications,” said Jonnalagadda.
The second princess added, “As a finalist, my empowerment activities started with community services. I wanted to be the change I wish to see in the world. I became part of a women’s empowerment project where I was aiming to teach, guide and equip youngsters, the need to make them self-assured, self-motivated and change their own lives and contribute to their communities.”
Jonnalagadda concluded by stating that she was looking forward to serving her community and inspire, develop and empower many women.
