Founder of Envision Brand, Boitumelo Mkhondo explained how the idea came about. “I own a branding company called Envision Brand and I handle a lot of talent as part of the business. One of the things that came up when I pitched my talent to brands was that they [artists] were not well known.

“There was no platform where up and coming artists could hone and showcase their skills… I, therefore, built a platform to enable them to be celebrities, which is how Expressions was found. This is a platform that will assist them with creating a whole branding corporate identity, assist them with funding and will assign them, mentors, so they can actually be what is called a brand,” she added.

Mkhondo said she wanted the fashion designers, artists and singers at the event to walk away with at least 100 000 followers from this experience. “Nonetheless, what we want to reiterate to artists is that for us to work with them, they should take themselves seriously.
