Maria Ferreira sentenced to 12 years imprisonment
Ferreira will serve seven years of her sentence after she was found guilty by the court.
MBOMBELA – Maria Ferreira (53) was found guilty by Nelspruit Regional Court on Wednesday and was sentenced to 12 years. However, five years was suspended and will serve seven years behind bars.
Ferreira was denied bail since March. She was arrested by members of the Hawks Mpumalanga in March 2017 after she conspired to murder her husband Carlos Ferreira. Intelligence driven operation was conducted and the accused was arrested.
