Bushbuckridge’s hopeful pageant queen ready to occupy bigger stages
Palesa Malele advocates for the equality of girls, especially those in underprivileged households, through her continuous sanitary towel drive.
A 20-year-old model and avid giver, Palesa Malele, said she hopes to participate on bigger pageant stages and advocate equality for young girls.
“I am inspired by life and had the privilege of knowing several women who have shaped me and still continue to do so. I strive to provide the same inspiration to my peers and young women. The goal is to encourage youngsters to live life without limitations to make their dreams come true,” Malele said.
She has established an organisation aimed at giving back to her community, called the Palesa Malele Sanitary Towel Drive.
“The drive aims to donate much-needed sanitary towels to underprivileged girls at schools in Bushbuckridge. It is not nice seeing young girls lack such a necessity, therefore, I strive to provide for them whenever I can or have enough funds to do so. This is a stand I have taken to uplift my community towards bridging inequality.”

This young woman from Bushbuckridge said she considered modelling as a viable career and a great opportunity to travel the world. She is the Miss Hazyview 2023/24 first runner-up. She said modelling is an exciting path as it exposes her to opportunities to give back to the community.
“I have always dreamt of entering Miss Mpumalanga and I hope an opportunity to enter will present itself,” she said.
