Pair arrested for dealing in nyaope and crystal meth

The pair were remanded in custody and will reappear at the same court tomorrow pending a formal bail application.

MBOMBELA – Two suspects were remanded in custody by the Lydenburg Magistrate’s Court last Friday for possession of suspected stolen property and dealing in illegal narcotics.
This comes after the police conducted a Safer Festive Season Operation last Thursday when they received a tip-off through Crime Intelligence about the pair who are dealing in narcotics. The police acted and proceeded to a block of flats where they found the two suspects. They arrested Ifesinachi Osuchukwu and Caroline Moganedi who was found with Crystal Meth and Nyaope to an estimated street value of R40 000. Moganedi was also found with a suspected stolen property, four bicycles, three laptops, a microwave, two televisions as well as cash stashed in her room. Osuchukwu was found in possession of 20 sachets of Nyaope estimated at R800 street value.

“The police in Mpumalanga want to make sure that the community enjoys a safer festive season hence the operations. There are also Safer Friday Operations that are taking place across the province in the form of foot patrol on the CBDs, Malls and other relevant places. The police, therefore, request the community to work with them and to be patient where necessary, more especially during roadblocks because they are aware that, some community members turn to be impatient and refuse to give time as well as space for them to conduct their work,” said the police.
