Through the grapevine: Entertainment comes with passion

The recycling of artists in some chilling spots is becoming a norm and it is rather boring. What seems to be the problem? Financial implications or just plain disrespect to revellers?

No offence, but who still books DJ Cleo and Winnie Khumalo in 2018? Talk about bringing the entertainment game into disrepute!

Same with some of our locals who believe being MCs at events entails imitating artists on stage and cracking dry jokes in broken English. Take notes from the likes of King Harris Khazana and others and maybe y’all might do a bit of justice.

And yes, we do not agree with some of King Harris’ popular lines like Kumnandi unga sebenzi, but he sure knows what his audience wants.

Even teachers and civil servants have grown a bit of wings. Not that it’s an issue but nje out of curiosity, some readers feel you can’t act like the next big thing until you reveal where you buy your Vapourmax kicks. Please don’t shoot the messenger asseblief!

Anyway, King Monada’s new track, “Malwedhe” already has people fainting, so more drama is not necessarily needed.

Have a great weekend and remember that being a good entertainer comes with passion.

May the force be with you!
