The state prosecutor, Robert Ndlovu said the evidence brought in court by the two state witnesses, Jabulani Manzini and Machawe Selby Langa who previously testified in court on how they saw Ngwenya stabbing Langa, was sufficient for the state to close its case.

The defence lawyer, David Mabuza, brought in an application for a discharge of the accused, citing contradictions in the witnesses’ testimonies. Ndlovu opposed this application. The case was postponed to November 13 for the defence to give its testimony in court.
