Youngsters impress on stage
Over a 100 people can’t be wrong. And judging by the thundering applause inside the Performing Arts Centre on two Friday's ago, Ilizwi's ‘voice’ is well on its way to becoming one of the most talked about local productions to hit the Lowveld in recent years.

WHITE RIVER – The brainchild of director and writer Ingrid Wylde and Empowerdex’s Vuyo Jack, this unfettered jazz musical had the audience enthralled with their energetic rendition of 50s and 60s South African classics.
The cast, which comprises young performers from KaBokweni, Nelspruit and White River, also had the honour of sharing the stage with America’s Globetrotters by Dustin’s Greenhouse, a group of high school students touring the world to cultivate hope. Although many of these youngsters had never carried out a public performance before, they set the tone for an energetic night of emotion, song and dance.
Earlier this year, Ilizwi performed to delegates of the World Economic Forum at the Nedbank Arena in Cape Town and will continue to perform in the Lowveld throughout the year.
The next performance is set to take place on September 27 at Penryn. Enquiries: Sonya on 013-754-3300.
