Congregants robbed during prayer

The suspects also demanded car keys of the cars parked outside the church and ordered girls to accompany them to the cars.

MGANDUZWENI – The police in Masoyi are looking for any information that will lead to the arrest of three men who robbed church members.

On Friday night, three men reportedly walked into Emmanuel Assembly Church and pointed guns at the congregants who were attending a night prayer, demanding money and cell phones.

They also demanded car keys of the cars parked outside the church and ordered girls to accompany them to the cars. They apparently started fondling them and raped one of the girls.

“We have opened a case of robbery and rape and with the help of the information that people are already coming forward with. We are confident that the perpetrators will soon be apprehended,” said Lt Ndlovu.
