Provincial legislature salutes Madiba

We join the people of this country and the world in conveying our deepest condolences to his family, the African National Congress and the people of South Africa at large.

The Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature has learnt with sadness of the passing of the first president of democratic South Africa,

Dr Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela,

We join the people of this country and the world in conveying our deepest condolences to his family, the African National Congress and the people of South Africa at large. The late Dr Mandela was loved and respected by all. He was known around the world for fighting against oppression and his unifying spirit, the love and protection of children and poor communities. The Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature

Mr Sipho Lubisi said this was a very sad moment for South Africa and the world at large. “We hope that his passing will inspire us and the people of SA to strive towards ensuring that ultimately this country is free of the pressing challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality. Mandela fought for peace and reconciliation. South Africa has for many years stood on his gigantic shoulders; we owe our being to Madiba. He will be sorely missed by all, but we will always remember the values that he stood for throughout his life, especially the trying times that he endured during South Africa’s struggle against apartheid.”
