The principal from the school indicated that assistance from teachers from neighbouring schools assisted them in achieving better matric results.
Khaliphani Secondary School’s five-year plan has assisted it in attaining a 91,3 per cent pass rate during last year’s matric results.
This was revealed by the school’s principal, Mr Bongani Gwambe, in an interview with this publication on Thursday during a visit by the MEC for education, Ms Reginah Mhaule to KaNyamazane.
Gwambe indicated that the plan came into effect after the school attained 51,9% in 2011 and comprised parent involvement regarding their underperforming children.
He added they had plenary sessions with parents and the learners concerned learners to look at ways of assisting them (learners) to achieve better results. “We basically asked for assistance from teachers from other schools who are more knowledgeable in subjects that we wanted learners to improve in,” he explained.
