Management crisis at MTPA after rhino horn theft
Crisis reigns yet again at the Mpumalanga Tourism and Park Agency (MTPA) after the current CEO Mr Jacques Modipane, was temporally removed from office.

MTPA horn thieves had to have had inside info
Modipane said that about 30 per cent of the stolen horns were procured from poaching scenes; harvested from rhino which died natural deaths, or were handed in by private game reserve owners for safekeeping. There was no explanation why the horns were in “so many pieces”.

Modipane was put on 14 days forced leave by the acting board chairman Clara Ndlovu. The chief operating officer Mr Edward Thwala was appointed acting CEO.
