DAANTJIE – Alleged lack of justice prompted the ANC chairman of ward 24A in Pienaar to organise a march to call on the local police commander to resign.
Mr Willy Nkosi, along with Pienaar community members, demanded that Pienaar police station commander, Col Kenal Jali steped down immediately. They delivered their petition last week.

“The police don’t work closely with the community. They are not investigating cases, instead, they are arresting innocent people and allowing criminals to walk free,” said Nkosi.
Nkosi added that because of Jali, the police station did not help them anymore. He organised this march supported by Cllr Mandla Msibi, an ANC chairperson of ward 2B in Pienaar.
“Pienaar is one area and I live in ward 2B. I’m supporting this march because we are experiencing the same problems with the police in our area,” said Msibi.
He added that in case of mob justice, were you to call the police, they would arrest you and you would have to testify in court about what had happened.
The community claimed that Jali did not qualify to run the station. They said he was too inexperienced for the position he occupied. “Colonel Jali must go,” concluded Nkosi.
