Pick n Pay White River will be hosting a Beauty and the Braai competition on Saturday May 10 at Protea Hotel, the Winkler at 09:00.

The supermarket will provide the ingredients for the competition, which costs R1 500 per group of four to six. Huge prizes to the value of R40 000 will be up for grabs.
The winning team will automatically qualify to take part in the finals of the Braai B Que Mpumalanga Region. They will attend the World Food Championships in Las Vegas.

The braaiers will be judged by Sarel van Sabie, former Masterchef South Africa contestant and braai king in his own right.
Mpumalanga beauties will also be there to flaunt it on the ramp in various age groups starting from Little Miss (from six to 10 years old), Petite Miss (11 to 15), Miss Beauty (from 16 to 21) as well as the married ladies, Mrs Beauty.
“All you need to do is be your fabulous self and take that catwalk by storm, who knows… It could be your day! Laurette Batstone, Mrs South Africa 2010, who has judged various pageants countrywide will be judging the ladies,” said Anine van der Westhuizen of The Little Marketing Company.
She added that while the braai masters show off their skills and the beauty queens strut their stuff, the kids can enjoy the jumping castle and trampoline.

They can also swim, have their faces painted, do mosaic or do sand art. Simba the Lion will pay them a visit and the Coca-Cola truck will also be there for extra entertainment. As if this is not enough, there will be food stands from leading local restaurants.
“Entrance to come and enjoy the day is free,” Van der Westhuizen said.
