Suspect sought for raping a 19 year old woman
The victim was from a local tavern, on her way home at about 03:30 in the morning when she came across a man who offered to accompany her, which she refused.

TONGA – Police are looking for an unknown African male in connection with a rape case. According to the police the man is suspected to have raped a 19 year old woman in the early hours of Sunday at Nkomazi Bridge.
The police added that the victim was from a local tavern, on her way home at about 03:30 in the morning when she came across a man who offered to accompany her, which she refused.
“The man did not take no for an answer and he accompanied the victim against her will. When they reached Tonga Nkomazi Bridge the man allegedly took-out a knife and pointed the victim, instructed her to lie down.
He then undressed the victim and raped her. The suspect then fled the scene with the victim’s cell phone,” said Lt Mzwandile Nyambi in a statement.
A case of rape has been opened at Tonga Police Station and it is under investigation. Police have urged anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact Captain Mkhathswa on 079 501 5053.
