Byelection campaigns on track

"We are sick and tired of the hide and sick games of councillors, they must deliver “.

BARBERTON – Different political parties have already started to conduct their door-to-door campaigns for the by-elections to be held in ward 3, as some of the political parties have already placed their posters.
This comes after a ward councillor, Mr Lucky Sambo resigned from his position unexpectedly a month ago.

It’s alleged that Sambo decided to hit the road after he landed himself in hot water which includes allegations of demanding bribes from people who needed stands or RDP houses.
These allegations against him started to make headlines early last year when residents of Phola Park Section, under his ward, blew the whistle to Mpumalanga News.
A ward councillor who will takeover, will have to work tirelessly to meet the needs of the people which includes improving state of roads and ensuring that elderly people who need shelter, receive RDP houses.
One of the residents Mongesi Sibiya said:

“We need someone who’s going to meet our needs in terms of pushing our local municipality to attend the needs of residents in this ward, especially in this ward, people are still struggling to get their RDP houses. We are sick and tired of the hide and sick games of councillors, they must deliver.“
The ANC at Umjindi sub-region has already introduced Ms Sakhile Msibi as their candidate for this position.
