PIENAAR – A male impersonating a woman is on the loose in this township, allegedly committing a number of brutal rapes.
The unknown man is said to dress up like a woman.
This surfaced after a 51-year-old woman was repeatedly raped by the suspect. According to the victim, she was busy in her garden, not very far from the bush. She was approached by the rapist who wore a long skirt and covered his head. She confirmed that he looked like a woman.
It is alleged that he complained of thirst and requested to be shown to a nearby river where he could get water.
He then pulled out a knife and forced the woman to accompany him to the river where he raped her.
The woman also allege that the suspect offered her water to wash herself after raping her, with the intention of repeating the act. He also allegedly took her cellphone.
Lt Jabu Ndubane said they were aware of this matter and a case had been opened.
“We are going to work tirelessly to ensure that we arrest the suspect because he will hurt lots of unsuspecting women. We hope to make an arrest soon.
“Rapists can’t be left to do as they please, hurting women,” concluded Ndubane.
